From Setbacks

Expanding what’s possible for creative teams and organizations

especially in the heart of the messy middle.

About Kevin Urban

Human-Centered
Strategist

The Possible-ist

Kevin Urban works with creative teams and organizations at moments of transition—when what used to work doesn’t anymore, and forcing the next step only creates more friction.

As a Possible-ist, Kevin expands how people, teams, and organizations see themselves—helping them loosen outdated identities, release unnecessary pressure, and use all of their experience to break new ground.

Drawing from his background as a professional actor, improviser, and entrepreneur in New York City, Kevin brings together performance psychology, creative strategy, and human-centered systems thinking.

He has taught and facilitated internationally and at institutions including PACE University, New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, and New York Film Academy.

PERSPECTIVE-SHIFTING TALKS

The Keynotes

These talks name the moment teams are in, normalize complexity,

and create shared language so your people can re-orient themselves together.

o1.

The Creative
Tangle

Finding The Thread Forward

Most teams don’t come to this work because they’re stuck. They come because they’re tangled. Too many ideas. Too many threads.

They come because they’re full.
Full of ideas. Full of experience.
Full of past successes, half-formed futures, and competing priorities.

This keynote names The Creative Tangle as a natural phase of growth—rooted in richness, not deficiency—and shows how momentum begins by finding the thread that matters now.

o2.

The MERGE
Process™

Breaking New Ground Without Starting Over

A human-centered framework for creative individuals, teams and organizations who want to move forward without erasing the past or forcing reinvention.

This keynote introduces The MERGE Process as a way to align individual talent within their team and organzational goals.

Ultimately getting the best of all worlds  by incorporating personal and team strengths focused on how they collectively think, work, grow, and express value.

The outcome creates sustainable momentum.

o3.

The Art of the Possible

(No Shoulds in the Land of the Possible-ist)

Creative teams are often governed by invisible rules—outdated expectations, inherited norms, and internalized “shoulds.”

This keynote helps organizations surface and release those pressures, creating space for clearer contribution and forward movement that fits who they’ve become.

Applied Experiences

Workshops

Applied experiences that help creative teams turn insight into alignment and momentum.

Workshops are where teams work with their own material: their ideas, dynamics, and challenges.

team Building

Workshop O1

Finding the Thread Together

A collaborative workshop that helps teams surface competing ideas and priorities and identify the thread that deserves focus now. The work is about sequencing—not simplifying—so movement can begin without losing nuance.

Workshop O2

Yes, And… Into Action

An applied collaboration workshop using improvisation principles to help teams listen better, build on ideas, and avoid shutdown or endless ideation. Teams leave with shared language and practical agreements that improve how ideas move forward.

Workshop O3

Embrace Your Brand Before You Break Your Brand

The Art of the Jedi Mind Trick

Embrace Your Brand to Expand Your Brand. Your brand is your creativity on display. This workshop teaches you how to embrace your unique selling proposition so others see you exactly the way you want to be seen. A masterclass in perception and authentic presence.

Organization Building

Workshop O1

Aligning the System

Rooted in the MERGE Process™, this workshop helps organizations identify where misalignment—not lack of talent—is slowing progress. Teams examine how decisions are made, how energy is spent, how work flows, and how value is expressed.

Workshop O2

From Best Practices to What Fits

Creative teams are often governed by invisible rules—outdated expectations, inherited norms, and internalized “shoulds.”

This keynote helps organizations surface and release those pressures, creating space for clearer contribution and forward movement that fits who they’ve become.

Workshop O3

The Cost of Being “Easy to Work With”

An organization-level exploration of people-pleasing and conflict avoidance as systemic issues. This workshop helps organizations replace over-accommodation with clarity, healthier accountability, and more honest collaboration.
